3. The Brother and Sister Become the Tundra

39" wide

A brother and sister were left alone in the world and no-one in their community could care for them. So when the group moved on to the next camping place, the brother and sister were left behind. They were helpless, so they talked to each other about what they could do to survive. "We could transform ourselves into some other animal," they agreed. "We could become fish, but then people would catch us in nets and eat us. We could become caribou but then wolves would attack us. We could become geese but then we would need to fly far, far away when winter came." Finally they thought of a perfect transformation. "We can become the tundra and we will be endless and eternal." So they carried out their plan - they became the tundra and survived forever.
