Works
by Luke Anguhadluq (1895-1982) and Parr (1893-1969) are featured
in a two-person exhibition at the Carleton University Art Gallery,
August 30 to October 30, 2011. Although they lived and worked
in separate regions of the Arctic, both artists were former
hunters who became artistic legends in their own time. The
exhibition compares and contrasts their unique visions and
sensibilities, finding similarities as well as differences.
Curated by Sandra Dyck, Parr
and Luke Anguhadluq: Drawing
from Life is
comprised of drawings from
the CUAG's permanent collection,
the result of a gift from Ottawa
collector and patron Drew Armour.
